Maria or Marie Tea Biscuits made Gluten Free. It is a biscuit like a very rich tea biscuit, except that it is usually vanilla flavored. They are usually round with the name embossed or imprinted on the top surface. Typically made from Wheat Flour, I have modified the traditional recipe to be Gluten Free. This is an easy step by step recipe guide to bake and cook these cookies from scratch. It is quick and perfect for those following a strict gluten free diet like those that are celiacs.

I would often snack on these with a cup of tea when I wanted to relax or take a break from the kids. But they quickly disrupted this routine as they would ask for a cup of tea and the biscuits too. Mommy can’t catch a break. It quickly become our afternoon routine at home. But that all changed with the house went gluten free. I silently stopped buying the Maria cookies from the grocery store and the kids didn’t notice…until a few months ago. My son came and asked what happened to those Maria biscuits we used to eat with chai. immediately I began experiment to make a flat round biscuit that was gluten free to revive our old traditions.
Here is that recipe. Follow along with my Youtube link.
